Spiritual feast: feast on God's goodness

Title: God Satisfies the Soul
"He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness." -Psalm 107:9
Story: Holidays and special occasions are universally celebrated by feasting. Imagine a birthday party without cake, Chinese New Year without a big feast, Thanksgiving without turkey. Sharing food around the table bonds people together, and "Pass the gravy, please" branches into warm and meaningful conversation. The sharing of food leads to the sharing of words and the sharing of hearts.
In the same way, when you feast on God's goodness, which you can do as often as you like, it satisfies your soul-hunger like nothing else can. Out of that fullness comes a desire to feed others with the blessings God has showered you. When you give out of your abundance, you are filled even more. Your plate is never empty; your soul is always full.
Prayer: At every meal, God, I am reminded of the many ways you feed my heart. Thank you for the other kind of bread, the kind that you nourish my spirit and soul. Thank You Jesus.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
